Plan's sources of income
|
 |
Grants from governments, trusts and companies help to maximise Plan’s resources and impact in developing countries.
Over the last decade grants have grown to be an important source of funding for Plan. In 2006/7 our grant income grew by 11% to US$162,000,000.
Working with national governments
Several of Plan’s fundraising countries not only receive grants from their governments but have also formed partnerships with them.
Partnership agreements set out at a strategic level the way in which the partners will work together to meet agreed goals, such as the Millennium Development Goals.
To qualify, non-governmental organisations undergo a rigorous accreditation process which ensures that government funds are channelled through organisations that have strong community support and are of sufficient size and professionalism to be able to deliver aid programmes overseas.
