Plan CEO Tom Miller

The world has changed a great deal since Plan began in 1937. And as we celebrate our 70th anniversary, it seems an opportune time not only to reflect on our past work but also to take stock of ourselves as an organisation, and determine how best we can improve our effectiveness and impact in the future.
 
This area is therefore part of our continued effort to be more accountable and effective. It has one objective: to tell you about the work we do and the real difference it makes in people's lives. It will show you where the money comes from, where it goes, what we do with it, and most importantly how it helps. 

It is not an attempt to simply be a list of projects completed, or homes built, but rather become a record of the real changes that have occurred in the lives of the children and communities we support.

It will not try to simply highlight the number of children attending school, but focus on the number of children receiving a quality education, finishing school, and leaving with a high standard of basic education that provides opportunity and choice for the future.

And it will not be solely success stories. Part of being a responsible organisation is to open up and to learn from mistakes, not hide them.

This area will openly and honestly show the work we do and how well we do it. It will highlight just how accountable we are, and to whom. It will make the best effort to reconcile the successful with the not so successful.
 
And finally it will catalogue how Plan is helping to push for an even more open, responsible, transparent, and accountable world.

As we celebrate our 70th Anniversary, Plan is not looking back. Rather, Plan is looking forward and seeking to be as effective and accountable as possible as we head towards our next 70 years.
