Tanzania floods leave hundreds homeless

Boys near flood water, Tanzania
Hundreds of people have been driven from their homes by the floods

April 2008: 600 children and adults in some of the poorest communities in Tanzania have been forced from their homes by heavy floods.

Affected families in the Morogoro region are now sheltering in primary school classrooms. They have no access to drinking water or food and are vulnerable to diseases such as malaria.

Plan is providing US$50,000 of emergency aid.
