Dominican Republic affected by Tropical Storm Noel
 |
| Picture taken in the community of Barahona |
 |
Plan program areas in the Dominican Republic - including Azua and Barahona - have been entirely cut off following heavy rainfall from tropical storm Noel, which has caused widespread flooding and loss of life across the country.
Staple crops including banana and rice have also been destroyed, and electricity supply and communications disrupted.
Poor visibility is also hindering helicopter relief flights - currently the only way of reaching cut-off communities.
