Habitat

Building secure, safe and healthy environments for children

Two years ago, we provided Colombian families with 3,600 large water tanks to collect and purify water. This was to help them avoid waterborne diseases such as cholera, diarrhoea and parasites. Last year, communities set up another 3,800 water tanks and we supported them in their efforts to connect 160 houses to local sewage systems. The clean water and cleaner surroundings, coupled with health and hygiene education, will lead to fewer children contracting diseases.
