Plan’s work in the Dominican Republic is concentrated in the southwest region – the poorest in the country.  Our main office is in Santo Domingo.  We have five offices located in the provinces of Azua, San Juan, Barahona, Elías Piña and Pedernales, collaborating with over 170 communities within these provinces.

We recently started working with communities located in the northwestern region, on the border with Haiti, developing municipal and provincial strategies to strengthen and improve the relations between Dominicans and Haitians immigrants and their descendants in collaboration with Plan Haiti.

Plan Dominican Republic also recognizes the growing presence of poverty in urban centers, so it's expanding its work to cover urban areas in the provinces where it works, as well in Santo Domingo Norte.

Plan Dominican Republic is also part of Plan International, one of the world’s biggest child-centred community development organizations, present in over 68 countries across the world.
