Growing up healthy
Ensuring children’s survival, protection and healthy development
Many diseases that cause childhood death or permanent disability can be prevented with vaccines. Unfortunately, children from poverty-stricken areas don’t usually receive vaccinations, because their families can’t access health centres or because vaccines aren’t available.
Last year, we took action to ensure that more children and their families have access to measles, diphtheria, polio, tetanus, hepatitis and whooping cough immunisations. We provided the necessary means to buy and preserve the vaccines and 1,200 children were immunised.
