Livelihood

Improving children’s welfare by increasing family income and food security

Adolescents in rural communities who finish primary school have few opportunities to continue their education in high school or through vocational training through lack of facilities.

To give adolescents the opportunity to develop skills, Plan and our local partners carried out 19 vocational training courses, including dressmaking, hairdressing and carpentry.  Following the courses, participants received the tools needed to pursue further practical studies or to enable them to apply what they learned in their home communities.
