A dream is coming true for Richard

One day in October 2007, the dream of this young harpist will come true. Richard has been selected to represent Paraguay in the World Orchestra: 'Weltweite Klänge'. This Orchestra will be on tour in Germany, Switzerland and France, ending with a concert in Les Invalides in Paris in November 12. He will have the opportunity to share his music, culture and art as a harp soloist.

He is a part of 95 sponsored children that integrate the project 'Sonidos de la tierra' – (Sounds of the earth) sponsored by Plan since 2005 and started as an educative initiative in 2002.  Sounds of the earth, promotes the development of creative potential and self esteem of the children through the art.

Back in 2002, the project 'Más allá del aula' (Beyond the classroom), was born to teach boys, girls and adolescents how to play the harp, guitar, dance or sports.  Then 2005, an alliance with 'Sonidos de la tierra' (Sounds of the earth) the project grew, under the direction of Luis Szarán and instructors financed by Plan as well as a donation of harps, guitars, violins, cellos, basses and costumes.

"This is a dream that I never thought to come true. I always loved to play de harp but it is an expensive instrument and my family couldn't afford to buy one.  I can't believe that I received the opportunity, not just to learn to play it, but to travel to many countries in the world doing what I like the most.  I feel very happy to fulfil this dream", appointed Richard.

"Beyond his musical merits, Richard is the best student in his school and an inspirational model between his peers.  They have supported him constantly and organized raffles and collects to collaborate in his new adventure through the world", added Director Luis Szarán – a famous Paraguayan classic musician.
