Growing up Healthy

Working for children’s survival, protection and healthy development

In 1998, we conducted a survey that revealed that only 65 per cent of two year-olds were fully immunised and only 16 per cent of baby deliveries were conducted by trained birth attendants or other health professionals.

Last year, we continued supporting health projects to improve children’s health in Bangladesh:

  • 425 health workers were trained, increasing access to health care for pregnant women and their families
  • Eight new health centres were built and furnished, providing medical care to 4,700 people
  • 13,700 children were vaccinated
