Children teach adults

The Special Achievement Award was presented to a remarkable group of Indian children for producing a video magazine that is made by children for adults. This is the first time the award has been given to children and the first time it has been awarded to India. This initiative was supported by Plan India.

The prestigious One World Media Awards 2003 ceremony instituted by The One World Broadcasting Trust, UK, was held on June 12, 2003 at London’s Marriott Hotel.

Titled “Children Have Something To Say”, the video magazine was conceived by Plan India to give disadvantaged Indian children an opportunity to make their voices heard. It comprises of 36 short films on issues ranging from child labour and tobacco addiction to child prostitution. Four of these extraordinary filmmakers flew to London specially to collect their prize.

Plan India along with the partners congratulates all the children of this project for winning the award!!!
