Growing up healthy

Ensuring children’s survival, protection and healthy development

Nearly 10 per cent of Indian children die before the age of five – usually from treatable illnesses – since many families don’t have access to health care services.

To increase access to medical care, we worked with communities last year to train health workers, immunise children and implement other health projects. In the Deodurg, Madakasira, HD Kote and Dharmapuri regions, for example, health workers immunised more than 57,000 children and provided check-ups (or emergency referrals) for 3,500 more.
