Ensuring children’s survival, protection and healthy development

Malaria afflicts many children in Nepal. Last year, in an effort to reduce the suffering caused by the disease, Plan assisted several communities in distributing more than 5,180 mosquito nets.

Also with Plan’s help, paramedics and community health volunteers organised 40 orientation sessions to show people how to prevent mosquitoes from multiplying. The project proved effective, as explained by Mr Chaudhary, father of a sponsored child:

“In the beginning, I was only interested in getting a bed net for my child.  But after the organiser told us about keeping the surroundings clean and getting rid of ditches, I was really impressed with the impact of the program.”
