Building relationships

Creating opportunities for children to participate in community development

To ensure that children are properly represented in the development process, we work to raise awareness of children’s rights and also enhance their ability to reach their full potential.

This past year, Plan and our local partners organised children’s events in nine villages. These included inter-village cricket matches, debates and story writing contests – all of which gave children the opportunity to showcase their abilities to parents, teachers and community members.

Winners from each competition were presented with awards at an International Children’s Day celebration. While the celebration was enjoyed by all, it was clearly the children who walked away winners.
