Children air their views

It is an hour of news and features focusing on child rights and the issues and concerns affecting the lives of children. The children gather and write stories, manage and do the actual airing of the various program segments, which they also developed. A radio technician and a Plan staff provide technical assistance.

The program delivers eight regular segments that tackle a particular theme every week:

  • Kiddie news, or 'Balitang Bulilit': provides local, national and international children’s news and updates
  • Let's listen to Them, or 'Pakinggan Natin Sila', which features interviews with distinguished guests
  • Sikat Ka Bata, which features a model child of the week
  • Child's point of View, or 'Punto de Bata', which is a discussion of local and national issues that affect children and their views about it
  • Let's know about it, or 'Atin Alamin', which focuses on new ideas and trivia for children
  • Voices of children, or Tinig Ng Musmos, is the segment that features the literary works of children
  • Children's music, or Musikong Pantsikiting, which features children’s songs related to the week’s theme
  • Whisper it to the air, or Ibulong Mo Sa Hangin, where the listners send phone-in messages and greetings.

Aside from the radio show, Bidang Bulilit members contribute news and feature articles to a weekly local newspaper in the province.

Wide acceptance by the community and the listeners is shown in the many letters, text messages and telephone calls received from various listeners - children and adult alike, who affirm the positive impact of the porgram.

With Bidang Bulilit, children are indeed stars!!!
