Improving children’s welfare by increasing family income and food security

Over 1,000 women and adolescents from 33 villages benefited from vocational training that would help them find jobs or start their own small businesses. They were also provided with supplies to start community businesses.  Ms Changkwian, an 18 year-old trainee, explained:

“It was a great pleasure for some of my friends and I to participate in the dressmaking training. There is a garment factory located near the village, so some of them could apply to work after the training.”
