Habitat

Building secure, safe and healthy environments for children

Access to clean drinking water continued to be a priority in much of our work with Kenyan communities. After providing more than 1,000 families with water tanks in 2000, we completed the following projects in 2002:

  • Five piped water systems were maintained and an earth dam repaired, both reducing the likelihood of communities contracting waterborne diseases
  • Another 235 families benefited from access to rainwater tanks
  • 10 new boreholes were drilled for wells
