Youth and children's first Central and Ouest Africa meeting/workshop

From the 18th to 22nd of December 2006 at the Maradior Palace Hotel in Conakry (Guinea), regional organisations and associations of children and youth held a first meeting of the kind supported by Plan. The topic of the meeting/workshop was " Political and socio-economical impacts on children and youth" which aim was to show their positive impact on the associations:

  • most of the states proove to do better and continuous efforts in child protection matters
  • these efforts are supported by partners such as :UNICEF; Plan international; Save the Children and ENDA
  • the youth and children movements and associations are born in most countries of the world now to promote children and youth workers' rights

After five days of hard discussion and work, children and youth were able to present improvements gained, analyzed persisting difficulties and make propositions of solutions they found to the authorities in the region as well as to the international institutions and NGO. The aim of such an initiative is to create a lasting network. Our goal in supporting such meeting is to shape a better world that fits both children and their communities.

Help Plan support Youth and Children in community development.
