Golden web award for Plan Burkina Faso

| Plan Burkina Faso receives the golden web award for the second consecutive year |

1 May 2008: For the second year running, Plan Burkina Faso’s website www.plan-burkina.org has won first prize in the ‘organisation de la société civile’ category at the Nuit du web awards in Burkina Faso.
In all, 164 sites were entered into the competition which aims to promote excellency in website management. Only 27 websites received awards. Plan Burkina won one of 10 gold trophies called “Gambrés d’or” Gambré, the local Mossi language term for web.
The sites were judged according to the following criteria: editorial content updating, ergonomic features, efficiency of the programmatic technical software used, and artistic quality.
Popular site
Since its creation in April 2006, the site has registered an increasing number of visitors. In 2006, it recorded 10,901 visits. The number grew to 234,579 as of 29 April 2008.

The architect of the site, webmaster Blaise Lankoandé, said:
”Plan is doing some marvelous work in the country, providing us with so much to tell on our site. The site is just a reflection of this work. As long as Plan’s work will be of such quality, so will the site be attractive, hence more distinctions to come.”
