Learning

Helping children, youth and adults learn and develop life skills

Education is one of Plan’s priorities in Burkina Faso. Estimates from a national survey and from the Ministry of Education show that over 50 per cent of school-aged children are not getting an education.  School enrolment is hindered by numerous factors, the most important being insufficient school facilities and chronic poverty.

To ensure that all children in areas where Plan works receive a primary education, we completed a project that ensured that 47,000 children were able to attend school and that those schools had a good range of teaching and learning materials.
