Plan takes a giant step in the promotion of children's rights

21 April 2008: Plan together with the Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV) agreed to launch the second phase of the radio campaign "I am a child but I have my rights too", which started in 2007. The campaign will be widely aired on 6 stations covering the entire country in both French and English languages.

The program informs parents, children and authorities on their roles and responsibilities regarding the Convention on the Rights of the Child and to involve children in the process.
24 stories are aired to promote the right to education, to have access to drinking water, to grow in healthy environment, etc...

Media carry the voice of children

The radio campaign enables children to speak to other children and to members of their communities about what they think, feel and wish. During the first phase, several children and adults listened to the program and children clubs were created and assisted to take actions in promoting their rights.
