Habitat

Building secure, safe and healthy environments for children

Plan was one of the few international organisations that remained in Guinea Bissau to help rebuild the country after the civil war in 1999. One of the priorities in the past three years has been to increase people’s access to clean drinking water. To date, 31 communities have benefited from borehole wells with hand-pumps and 39 communities have benefited from improved wells with pulley systems. Last year, another 24 wells were dug in 20 communities.
