Our work in Senegal

Below you can read about what we've been doing in the past year in four key areas, and read about sample projects and how they have affected real people's lives. Simply click on a title to read more.

These and dozens of other projects in Senegal were carried out thanks to the generosity and commitment of sponsors across the world.

A few more examples of last year’s achievements:

  • 120 sheep were distributed to families, not only to generate additional income for the family but to help train children about animal husbandry and good farming practice, which are important skills for their future
  • 320 latrines were built, which (along with health and hygiene awareness initiatives) helped to ensure that the areas near water sources were kept cleaner, thus protecting people from disease
  • 5,300 children received school supplies, such as books and pencils
