Day of the African Child: children express themselves

As in many other countries, Togo will be celebrating the Day of the African Child with this year’s theme 'children and violence'.

Plan Togo has supported children to build up activities to help them share their feelings and defend their rights.

“Yes this day concerns the children of Africa and Togo. This is the celebration of African children to fight against child abuse and protect their rights.”

“We celebrate the 16th June in my country Togo each year, so it’s a day of celebration and prevention on child’s rights in Togo. I’m very proud Togo is having this day for the children.”
Abdou Malik, aged 16, 2nd year of secondary school
