All the dead are male. A further 2 people are seriously injured.
Staff support
Tom Miller, Plan’s chief executive officer, said: "Our primary concern is for staff and families of those hurt in the attack. We have immediately closed our operations across Pakistan and have dispatched a security team.
"Counselling will be provided for those affected by the tragedy."
Shock attack
The attack comes as a shock as Plan has deep roots in the Mansehra area and has worked with the community for more than a decade. Most staff are locals.
Plan was given no specific warning of a threat to its staff or offices at this time. The motive for the attack is still unknown.
The office has 21 full-time and 7 part-time staff. At the time of the attack the office was being protected by unarmed guards.
