Welcome to Plan China

A large majority of China's rural population rely upon agriculture as their primary source of livelihood. However, erosion, contamination from pesticides and poor farming techniques have led to low crop productivity. Poor access to health care and education are also problems facing China’s population.

In rural areas, Plan’s main objective is to provide resources and expertise so that communities can control their own development.

China’s economy grew by seven per cent last year. However, as in past years, most of this growth occurred in urban areas. The majority of rural families still live in poverty. Last year we were able to support 18,300 children and their families in rural areas.
